Career coaching/Career planning

In the super-paced world of today changes in family and work situations can call for reflections over work-life balance. What is important now and what is important in the long run? Am I making conscious decisions or are things just happening randomly?

Företagsuniversitetet’s Career coaching/career planning is a new program for self-development through self-knowledge. Using a structured method you will become more aware of where you are right now and where you would like to be in the future. Together we explore your past experience and discuss your present situation, interests, values and competencies. We help you put your finger on your strengths. The coaching process is built on asking the right questions and active listening. This process will enable you to break your old patterns of thinking and become more aware of your strengths and your visions.

What’s in it for the company?

With Career coaching employees become more motivated and take a greater responsibility for their own development. This leads to a more effective organization. It also helps to increase flexibility within the organization which means lower costs for external recruitment. Studies have shown that an added bonus is that you become a more attractive employer by providing this opportunity for your employees.

The process

• The program is divided into seven meetings, every other week over a
   three month period. A meeting is approximately 1.5 hours.
• Each meeting we follow the step by step process and move forward
   by asking constructive questions and reflecting.
• The first thing we do is to look at your current situation. Together we
   look at who you are, your background, your values, your strengths
   and your motives.
• In the next step we find out what you want and what your visions are.
• This process leads to a Personal Action Plan where we define goals
   and partial goals, regarding both professional and private life.
• Please note that coaching is not therapy. We focus on your present
   situation and the future.
• Our coaches have total confidentiality and follow the ethical rules set
   up by the coaching profession.

Our coaches

Kerstin Förberg, certified Career Coach with many years of educational experience. Ms Förberg has been a Project Leader at Företagsuniversitetet for the past seven years.

Janet Zettermarck, certified Career Coach, English coach specialized in English for Human Resources. Ms Zettermarck coaches in English for native and non- native speakers. Carrying out the coaching process in English with non-native speakers gives them the added value of developing their language skills at the same time as they develop their self-knowledge.
